Can you get the grant for solar panels in Ireland?

Yes you can. The SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) offers a one time grant to homeowers in Ireland installing Solar PV panels on their homes.

How much is the grant for solar panels?

The value of the grant depends on the size of your solar system. This is measured in (kilowatts peak).

An example:

  • €800 for 1kWP
  • €1600for 2kWP
  • €1850 for 3kWP
  • €2100for 4kWP

How to apply for SEAI grant application?

The SEAI grant application process has five steps:

 

  1. Locate and select a SEAI-approved solar PV firm,
  2. Submit an application to SEAI for a grant proposal, and then await approval prior to commencing the project.
  3. Apply to ESB Networks for the connection of your system to the power grid. Following that,
  4. Have the solar PV panels installed and conduct a Building Energy Rating (BER) assessment after the work is completed.
  5. Provide proof of the completed work to SEAI, who will then handle the claim processing.

Do you need planning permission for solar panels?

You do not need planning permission for rooftop solar panels
